UPDATE!

Charles and Mary are going through some difficult times at present, so please intercede for them in prayer. It is hard growing a church in North America, and much more difficult in West Africa. Part of the problem is the need for finances, and so many voices coming forth from America and other countries bringing "another gospel!" They are promised money, IF they will join with this group or that group. Charles and Mary's ministry is "NOT FOR SALE!" Pray for them please in Koforidua, Ghana.

Charles ministry is “Reaching The Unreached” and it is hard work. They go into tribal areas where there is no power, no clean water; no Gospel and no money. Discouragement is written all over the faces of the tribes people, but we are bringing them hope in Christ Jesus. We need to bring them more than hope, they need to see the body of Christ in action and help them get the basic necessities, like a well with clean water, power is much more difficult over there, but generators will work.

Ghana has churches on every corner in the cities, but there is little Christianity. The churches mix Spiritualism, Voodoo, Witchcraft and Animalism with Christianity, but there is a great hunger for the truth. The men and women we work with are on fire for Jesus Christ, and preaching the truth of the Full Gospel.

People have crowded into the cities to find work, but the tribal people live as they have for hundreds of years, in mud huts; no sanitation, no running water, no jobs...it’s a hard life. In Koforidua, after speaking to over a thousand pastors and Christian Leaders, I discovered there are four schools of Voodoo in Koforidua alone, where Europeans come to learn how to do Voodoo!.

While ministering in a tribe, a snake was hurled from a tree aimed at me, but the Lord warned me and although it missed me, it hit one of the host pastors and he was bitten, but anti-venom the tribes use was gathered that day and after prayer, he was lucid and dazed, but was fine on the way home. It was one of those 5 step snakes, obviously, the tribal elders didn’t want me there. Still want to be a missionary? Yes!

I have ministered on radio in Takaradi and Koforidua, and in large churches and small gatherings, with the Lord performing miracle after miracle, to God be the glory!

Rev. Charles Mensah has just sent us a report stating that where the “snake incident” happened, he and pastors who work with him have gone into the area and have a large group gathered in Asesewa. They put up a mud hut to gather themselves in, but the roof came off during torrential rains. Folks they need a sturdy building made with wood and a metal roof. They need our help! Rev. Mensah and his wife Mary, go to the unreached areas of Ghana and take a generator, The "Jesus Film," screen and sound system with them and many have come to the Lord Jesus. It is a wonderful way to reach the tribes, they have no electrical power so this is a real treat for them; but unfortunately, it all takes money, because a tractor or cow and wagon must be hired. We do serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills, we need to kill one of those cattle to further the work in Ghana.

If you feel you would like to help financially or prayerfully in Ghana, please send a note along with a check payable to Bridge Ministries so we can send you a tax receipt, please make sure you notate the gift is for Ghana and we will see that every cent goes to Ghana.

Please pray for these men and women, it's a hard life, but a rewarding life. Frank and I expect to go to Ghana next year and then on to Togo and Nigeria.
